Simply ‘Feelin’ Groovy’ in Scottsdale

It never fails. There comes a time – usually as each of our trips is drawing to a close -- that we want to shout, “Slow down, you move too fast!” It is happening again this week in Arizona.

With only a few days left in Scottsdale  Simon and Garfunkel’s “59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy)” seems to say it best. . .

“Slow down, you move too fast; gotta make the mornin’ last

    1. That is a problem with this post, I've been humming the song since I wrote it! Wish I could have done justice to the kaleidoscope portion of the planter; the plantings when viewed through the kaleidoscope were simply stunning shapes, sizes and colors. Thanks for the visit, Jo!

    1. Glad it was groovy, Noel. (Had to laugh - haven't used that word in many moons but now I've got it right there at the tip of the tongue). Thank much for the visit today.

  5. My family just visited Arizona for the first time last week. We didn't make it to Scottsdale but we did see an amazing Arizona sunset over the Grand Canyon.

    1. Tonya, we've never been to the Grand Canyon. Have gone past it a few times and each time, say, Next Time! I will take a peek at your blog to see that sunset!

    1. That is one of my favorite photos, Poppy. It was taken out in the gardens at JW Marriott Scottsdale and although it is such a mega resort, we were the only ones out there enjoying the solitude and tranquility!

  7. Beautiful. Love how your photos match each line in the song, Jackie. And of course, now it's in my head. I'm heading over to YouTube to give it a listen. So light and carefree, I see a convertible on a summer day speeding over the bridge. Thanks, Jackie!

    1. That is a problem with this post, Marcia. I've had those lyrics dancing through the brain cells since I put this one together -- it does call out for a convertible, a summer day (and an Audrey Hepburn type scarf blowing in the wind, doesn't it?)

  10. Well, I think that post jinxed our stay: we are under flood alert right now, the skies are low, dark gray and dumping rain. . .maybe I had better re-read that post. Thanks for visiting!

  11. I've never heard of the 59th Street Bridge Song, but as soon as I read "Feelin' Groovy," my brain started playing the song. I've never had a mental soundtrack while reading a blog post. That last photo of the sunset is my favorite.

  12. I had to Google, 'feelin' groovy' to even find the name of the song, as I think we all know it as you do! Thanks for stopping by. . .oh, and believe it or not, that last photo is sunrise!

  13. Hi Jackie, I know that feeling when a trip is coming to an end. Time seems to always fly by. I haven't been to Scottsdale; nice to have glimpse of it through your photos. I'm not familiar with the song. I found it in You Tube and played in on the background while scrolling down your photos. Its a fun blog reading experience! Now I cannot get the tune out of my head. But thanks, I'm now feeling groovy.

  14. Jackie, it looks like there are a lot of fun things to do in Scottsdale. That bench facing the tree looks really inviting. I love the beautiful skies. I hope the rain has let up for you . That's a strange thing to be saying about Arizona!

    1. The rain has slowed but the clouds remain; swim suits and shorts are packed away. We head north as far as Las Vegas tomorrow but the weather isn't much better there -- yet!
